South Carolina is a state located in the southeast of the United States; it is separated from the Atlantic Ocean in the southeast and along with North Carolina in the northeast and north. Short History

The area of what is now South Carolina was permanently settled by the English in 1663. The two regions, North Carolina and South Carolina were part of the charter which established Carolina in 1663. South Carolina was separated from North Carolina in 1729.

The South Carolina’s Atlantic Coastal Plain can be divided into two parts: the Outer Coastal Plain (or Lower Coastal Plain) and the Lower Coastal Plain, which has swamps along the streams (some areas have also been dug to create the land for farming).
